Battered, Not Beaten

It is not something that is talked about a lot, but it happens all around us. One in four women and one in seven men will fall victim to domestic abuse at some point. It has many forms; domestic violence includes economic, physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse and coercion. Look around your environment. I assure you that’s a few of your family members and/or friends. Acquainted with the experience and connecting over it with a fellow artist, this painting came to life to appear in her exposition about the subject.
One may get victimized, but we can rise above being victims.
