Calm I

Abstract does not come easy to me.
If you know my work you know I like a more figurative style, something concrete, recognizable even. But do I want to grow as an artist, I then have to try my hands at different lanes.

Currently I’m following a workshop around the experience of emotion in creative work. To my surprise, current literature dictates calm, so the absence of any big emotional fluctuation, as the 6th basic emotion. Whether that is an autistic thing or not, I tend to not go through big emotion, and calm is the thing I most resonate with. Useful little something when you’re trying to make paint stick to any kind of surface.
So here’s what I did with my new found perspective on tranquility. And I feel, this tiny sidestep in my journey won’t leave me unaffected.
