Ama

Ama (海女, “sea women”) are Japanese divers famous for collecting pearls. Their simple lifestyle is now threatened with extinction because of modern society.
The romantic me wishes these uncomplicated jobs, it is even more of a way of life, could remain, especially in my lifetime, now everything is so technologically developed and complicated.

On a side note: if anybody knows what the inscription on the knife means, please inform me. To this day, I haven’t been able to figure it out…
