When I’m feeling lackluster, I tend to isolate. After a series of unfortunate events, I found myself having a nervous breakdown and I had to check myself in to hospital. I stayed there for quite some time, finding myself with idle hands and ample time. Fortunately I had picked up painting a little time before and though I didn’t have a lot of technique, I tried to picture my own space hidden safely away from the curious eyes of therapists and fellow patients.
I did heal eventually, but it took different people than aforementioned. It took friends, family, lovers, teachers and like-minded spirits to find myself again.
